Join the GTTG Team and local Theater owner, international improv performer, teacher and therapist Rachel Madorsky for the most interactive workshop of the year! If you hear the word improv and immediately freeze in terror, this workshop is for you. We promise! Rachel knows how to have a great time doing things that tap into our authentic-light-hearted genius, and this workshop promises to invite us gently out of our comfort zones and into a new realm of creativity, spontaneity and compassion.
Therapists use improvisation all the time! With our clients we are thinking on our feet, being fully present in the moment, and learning how to lean into discomfort gently. Have you ever wanted to feel more at ease with public speaking? Or less worried about what to say in a difficult moment? This workshop will tap into your natural skills as a therapist and you will leave feeling empowered and courageous!
Together, we will be teaching the art of Agreement and Radical Support, as it relates to our work as therapists.+ How to confidently relax in the moment of ANY situation and trust yourself more.+ How to uncover creative solutions to any problem for your clients (and you).+ When and How to invite light and laughter into the therapeutic process, as a conduit for healing and change.+ Hands on techniques and practices to teach our clients (and ourselves) self trust, confidence and the power of deciding.
This evening workshop is all about play, so come prepared to relax and have a great time. Bring your comfortable clothes, vulnerability, open mind, and an open heart, and we will provide the fuel and the fun. Happy hour included! A portion of registration costs will go to support our host KidsActing Foundation, which provides free theater programs to underserved communities in Austin.
